What ByteRoast collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Byte Roast L.L.C. collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit byteroast.com, join the ByteRoast Cloud waitlist, create an account, or use our services. It does not cover third-party sites we link to.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, company, billing address and payment details processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
- Waitlist and contact information: the details you submit in our forms, including your preferred plan, region and any notes you write.
- Service data: server configurations, DNS records, snapshots and support messages. This is your data; we process it to provide the service.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and timestamps, collected in server logs for security and reliability.
- Communications: emails and messages you send to sales, support, security or legal.
3. How we use information
- Provide, secure and operate the services.
- Respond to waitlist requests, support tickets and other messages.
- Process payments and issue invoices.
- Detect abuse, fraud and security incidents.
- Send service announcements and, if you opt in, product updates. You can opt out of marketing at any time.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on performance of a contract (providing the services), legitimate interests (security, reliability and improving the service), consent (marketing emails), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
5. Cookies
The website uses only strictly necessary cookies required for sign-in and security. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers. If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies.
6. Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us operate: hosting and infrastructure providers, email delivery, payment processing and accounting. They are bound by contracts that limit their use of your data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of ByteRoast, our customers or others. We do not sell personal information.
7. International transfers
Our services run in multiple regions, including the EU, the United States and Saudi Arabia. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
8. Retention
We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active and for the period required by tax and accounting law afterward. Waitlist entries are kept until you ask us to remove them or until the waitlist closes. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email privacy@byteroast.com. We will verify your request and respond within the period required by law. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege practices and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we take incidents seriously and notify affected parties when required.
11. Children
The services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, by email. The date at the top shows when the policy was last revised.
