The Riyadh region is live
Our sixth region is online, with local peering in the Gulf and 6 ms round trips from Dubai, Dammam and Kuwait City.

Riyadh (ruh1) is open. It is our first region in the Gulf and the one customers have asked for most since we started publishing latency numbers.
What is available
Cloud VPS in all four plans, private networking, cloud firewalls, snapshots and anycast DNS. The region is connected to our backbone with redundant paths and peers locally with major Gulf networks.
Why it took longer than a map pin
Opening a region is not renting a rack. It is capacity planning, network engineering, storage replication, support coverage and a hundred small details that decide whether a region is real or a checkbox. We would rather ship one region that behaves like the others than three that need excuses.
Latency, measured
From our probes, median round-trip times to ruh1 are roughly 6 ms from Riyadh and Dammam, 12 ms from Dubai, 18 ms from Kuwait City and 24 ms from Cairo. Your numbers will depend on the network path, so test from where your users actually are.
