Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 20 October 2026 · Byte Roast L.L.C.

What you may and may not do on the ByteRoast network.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all customers, users and servers on the ByteRoast network. It exists to keep the platform fast, safe and available for everyone. Breaching it may result in suspension or termination.

1. Prohibited content

  • Content that infringes intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
  • Child sexual abuse material, or content that sexually exploits minors.
  • Credible threats of violence, harassment, or incitement to harm.
  • Malware, phishing kits, botnet command infrastructure or credential-stealing tools.
  • Content that violates applicable sanctions or export-control law.

2. Prohibited activity

  • Attacking, scanning or probing systems you do not own or have written permission to test.
  • Sending spam or unsolicited bulk email, or operating open mail relays.
  • Hosting botnets, cryptojacking, or traffic designed to hide the origin of abuse.
  • Interfering with other customers, our network, or our ability to monitor and secure the platform.
  • Using the service to evade a legal order, ban or access control.
  • Reselling the service in a way that misrepresents your relationship with ByteRoast.

3. Resource use

Shared hosting plans are subject to fair-use limits on CPU, memory, disk I/O and concurrent processes. You may not use shared hosting to run persistent heavy workloads, mass mailers or resource-intensive crawlers. If your workload needs guaranteed resources, move it to a Cloud VPS.

Cloud VPS plans include dedicated resources and a transfer allowance. Sustained usage beyond the allowance is billed, not throttled. Deliberate attempts to consume unbounded network capacity may be rate-limited.

4. Security testing

You may test the security of your own servers. Testing ByteRoast's platform or other customers requires prior written authorization. Good-faith reports to security@byteroast.com are welcome and will not be pursued.

5. Email and messaging

Bulk or commercial email must comply with applicable law, include a working unsubscribe mechanism, and honor suppression lists. We may limit outbound mail from new accounts to protect deliverability. Spam complaints are investigated and can result in suspension.

6. Data and backups

You are responsible for the legality of the data you store and for maintaining appropriate backups. Our snapshots are a convenience and a safety net, not a substitute for your own retention policy.

7. Enforcement

We investigate reports of abuse. Depending on severity, we may request a fix, rate-limit, suspend or terminate the service, and we may preserve evidence where required by law. Where possible we notify you before acting; for active attacks or illegal content, we may act immediately. Repeated violations may result in permanent termination.

8. Reporting abuse

Report abuse to abuse@byteroast.com with the IP address, URL or domain, timestamps and a description. For security vulnerabilities, use security@byteroast.com.
