Fourteen sites, one calm migration.
Studio North designs and maintains sites for galleries, architects and restaurants. They moved fourteen WordPress installs off a shared host that had become slow and unpredictable.
All migrated with no downtime.
Faster median time to first byte.
Planned, executed and verified.
The problem
Studio North had outgrown the shared plan they started on years earlier. Page loads were inconsistent, staging meant cloning a site by hand, and the host's support team could not explain why PHP workers were being killed during a client presentation.
They did not want a dedicated server to babysit. They wanted predictable hosting, staging on every site, and a provider who answered with a name and a reason.
The move
We migrated the fourteen sites to Business shared hosting over one day. Each site was copied, tested on a temporary hostname, and switched at the DNS level with a 300-second TTL. Email moved in the same window.
Staging copies were created for the six sites that change often, and the studio's deploy checklist now starts with "clone to staging" instead of "pray".
The result
Median time to first byte dropped 38%. More importantly, the failure mode changed: when a plugin update goes wrong, they restore a staging snapshot instead of apologizing to a client.
